Corey Considine was an amazing massage therapist and a true healer. She earned the status of California Licensed Massage Therapist in 2002 after completing training and 700 hours of practicum. She had the heart and hands of one who heals at deep levels, and so to be touched by her hands and her heart was to receive an hour of what felt like divine love.
Corey would tell me funny stories about her work, beginning with those first years of working at various massage therapy offices. She was a petite woman, about five foot three, and her weight was usually about 110 pounds. But as a massage therapist, Corey had the strength of a wrestler. Her arms and hands, so feminine and epically beautiful, could dig down into the most gridlocked body and set free the tension, grief, and anger that dwelled within.
She loved her work as a massage therapist and intuitively knew that she was healing more than the body, that she was working with divine helpers. I admit that my opinion is prejudiced from being her mom, but whenever I was lucky enough to have a massage from Corey, I was always aware that the angels were in the room working with her. The healings and openings were always deep and full of the great mysteries of life.
Massage therapy is hard on the therapist, and Corey gave it a rest from time to time and delved into food service. But lately she had come back to it and made new business cards and the post card I use in this post, as she was experiencing a surge of renewed strength and excitement about the types of healing that come from getting a wonderful massage from a talented, experienced, intuitive healer such as herself.
This spring, she was utterly thrilled to begin a new relationship with a Sonoma County massage school owner, and was taking expanded classes there, including polarity healing, which she found to be a higher level of work. The week that she "took flight" as I sometimes call it, she had spent two days at the Sonoma County school with her classmates, giving and receiving polarity treatments. The school owner told me that she was delighted and amazed to see Corey fully in the flow of healing that week especially. Corey went through the room, placing her hands on people and holding healing space for them, and sometimes just leaning over to kiss someone on the forehead as they lay face-up on the massage table. She spread love and light wherever she went.

Corey Considine: Love, Death, and Transformation. A short film that may take me years to create. But I'm on it.
